Suresh was Chief of Comparative Medicine at the National Institutes on Aging, NIH, USA from 2001-2008.Until recently, he was Senior Director and SLT member at Bristol-Myers Squibb and established the pre-clinical facilities for BBRC in Bangalore and at BMS, Redwood City, California, USA. He has excelled at NIH and BMS winning the NIH Director’s award and BMS Galaxy Award for Leadership in Science. Prior to NIH, Suresh worked at St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, Memphis, was a resident at University of Maryland and taught in a medical school.
Suresh graduated with a Veterinary Science degree from A P Agricultural University, Tirupati, in 1986, and earned a Masters in Microbiology and Immunology from the same university. He received his PhD from Iowa State University, USA in 1994.
Suresh is involved with AAALAC, DBT, FSSAI, AALAS, LASA, SAEA, etc., He is the first council member on AAALAC International from India.He is on the executive council board of The Federation of Asian Biotech Association – FABA. He is also a member on several other organizations that promote research in Medicine and Biotechnology. He has published thirty scientific papers in reputed journal including Nature, PNAS, Immunology, PLOS etc., He speaks at several international forums and platforms. Suresh also initiated the annual international conference on 3R Advances and Alternatives which attracts several reputed speakers, and is invited by the World Congress in 2023.
